Ok, so I fell off the wagon with the yarn situation. And then I saw this. I think we all know by now that I am in love with knitted lace. Oh, it's not a mild crush, it's a fall head over heals type of love. I just can't get enough of the stuff. So when I saw this book, I drove the 100 miles to civilization and bought it, well, you know because I live in BFE and all. It's a beautiful book and I want to knit everything in the book. No really. Everything. Which of course it's kind of a good thing I fell off the wagon, because I'm gonna need more yarn. But I digress.
So I wanted to pull out my other Wendy Johnson book I have that I bought years ago (2006) when I lived in the wilds of Florida. I looked hi, then low, and then back again with hi and back again with low and I could not find it. So I tried to think what where I might have put it. If you all recall we had a "clean out" not too many months ago and well...it appears I put my Wendy Knits: My Never-Ending Adventures in Yarn book in the give away pile. I am sad. So I called back the bookstore in BFE...no they don't have it, can't even order it...so then I called the yarn shops...nope.
I hate when I do stupid stuff like this....which I wish I could say was not often...but you and I know it's more often than I'd like to admit. So some lucky soul out there has a great book to read, hope they knit something out of it. In the mean time I am gonna be over on the sofa with a cold wash cloth on my forehead and my new lace book, a diet Pepsi near by to take the edge off every time I think about what I did.....hmmmm better head up to the store to get more diet Pepsi! :)
Wishing you all many stitches of love. :)
You're cracking me up! I don't know you well enough to know whether or not you have a "significant other", but if you do, do you hide your purchases? I have every corner stashed! And why is it that I always need something more? Good grief, I was just at Michael's yesterday and walked out with two more bags! Why does it all have to be so appealing and soothing for my soul? Well, soul sister...I feel your pain. Hugs, Annette
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I do something like that ... check Amazon.com ... its there! You've got me thinking of knitting ... first cross stitch, now knitting. I stopped at a yarn shop today and they are starting a class in September...I may join, not totally sure yet though. Have a wonderful, blessed evening.
ReplyDeleteI will keep an eye out for it..what is the name of the book?
ReplyDeleteDAH!!! You wrote the title..It is one of those days..have a good one
ReplyDeletePetunia Pill (I just love your blog name!) I am blessed to have a husband who usually is standing right there with me when I am getting all this stuff. He's awesome about my stash. I wish I could stop buying it, but there is just something about yarn, the colors, the texture...I have a zillin projects I want to make...well, you know. :) Thanks so much for visiting with me today...and Welcome to the never ending adventures of a yarn nut. :)
ReplyDeleteVikki - I posted on Ravelry about it and someone is sending me a copy. I am still floored by their kindess. And thank you so much for being so kind to look for it..but no worries now. You are just so sweet to offer though. :)
Glor - I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that you might take the knitting class in September. I hope you do. I knit and crochet and trust me, you will never give up crochet, but it's always nice to know how to knit because it opens doors and windows to your world. I figure, I don't eat the same food every day, why should I only do the same craft every day! I bored easily so when I do get bored I can switch to crochet or knitting (or cross stitch)...it's always good to have another skill under your yarn wrapper! :)
Blessings to you and yours always :)
Awww....I hate when that happens. I don't usually give much away so if I can't find it, it's because I've stashed it so well that I can't find it! I'm glad someone is sending you that copy. See....there are still some kind people out there in the world isn't there? Maybe one of these days I will learn to knit. I have a heck of a time holding both needles and working without losing stitches.
ReplyDeleteHookin It with Mr, Lick, Lick - You are right there are a lot of super nice people in the world...it kind of makes your heart smile when you start to think about it. :) Knitting is really easy, everything new is hard at first until you learn it...some yarn stores will even show you how to knit for free, and if not You Tube is filled with a bunch of stuff...I learn new stitches all the time by watching. It's a great resource. come on, jump on the knitting train...why should I be the only one having so much fun. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings always :)
